What can I store in a storage unit?
Our storage units are ideal for storing household items, furniture, boxes, business inventory, tools, seasonal decorations, sporting equipment, and many other personal belongings. If you're unsure whether an item is appropriate for storage, please contact our office before moving it into your unit.
What items are not allowed in a storage unit?
For safety reasons, certain items cannot be stored in storage units, including:
- Food or perishables
- Plants or animals
- Flammable or hazardous materials
- Combustible items
- Liquids
- Stolen or illegal goods
If you are unsure whether an item is permitted, please contact our office before storing it.

Storage Tips
How should I prepare items for long-term storage?
Pack items in sturdy boxes or plastic storage bins whenever possible, and clearly label each container. Clean and dry furniture, clothing, and appliances before storing them to help prevent odors or mildew. Cover furniture to protect it from dust, and leave a small walkway inside your unit so you can easily reach your belongings later.
How can I organize my storage unit efficiently?
Place items you'll need most often near the front of the unit. Stack heavier boxes on the bottom, lighter boxes on top, and label everything clearly. Creating a simple aisle down the center of your unit makes it much easier to access items without unpacking everything.
How can I protect furniture while it is in storage?
Clean furniture thoroughly before storing it and use furniture covers, blankets, or moving pads to protect surfaces from dust and scratches. Avoid wrapping furniture in plastic for extended periods, as it can trap moisture. If possible, store mattresses and upholstered furniture off the floor and avoid placing heavy items on top of delicate pieces.
Is self storage helpful during a move?
Absolutely. Many customers use self storage while moving, remodeling, downsizing, or waiting to move into a new home. A storage unit provides extra space and flexibility, helping make the moving process less stressful.
